Ladbrokes invests in 'Appraisal Skills Training'

Jeremy Trevor, retail human resources director at the firm, claims this investment better aligns his department with the company's strategy.

"We realised that to achieve our objectives we needed to ensure our managers Ö had the skills and abilities to support the changes we wanted to deliver," he states.

Identifying insight and the capacity to learn as key areas to improve, it sought to facilitate change management by improving its executives' abilities in these areas.

Mr Trevor comments this approach created a sense of appreciation as these people felt the company was investing in them.

Among the effects Ladbrokes identifies as stemming from its performance management training are improvements in customer satisfaction and loyalty.
