Britons spending 5.8bn hours 'talking to customer service'
UK consumers spend more than two hours each week dealing with customer service representatives, new research shows.
Analysis published by DHL Express finds the country spends a total of 5.8 billion hours each year speaking to customer care workers.
The research also showed 27 per cent of people say the level of customer care they experience will affect their buying decisions.
However, 86 per cent of consumers said if they experience negative customer service it will impact on their future purchases from that organisation.
It stated the average Briton spends five entire days in total in every year dealing with client support representatives.
The findings support assertions made earlier in the week by Charter UK, which said a high number of companies understand customer care is key to retain clients.
Paul Clarke, the chief executive of the company, said there is more of a focus now on customer service training.
