Mike Tyndall, Managing Director
Mike established GA Training in 1994 with the expressed desire to provide training that really makes a difference to organisations and their employees. By focusing on outcomes and being very aware that for training to truly effective it must positively impact on behaviour, not just in the short-term - but over time, Mike makes sure that GA trainers strive to maximise their clients' return on investment.
As well as being responsible for programme development, Mike also remains actively involved in training delivery and specialises in the following areas - presentation skills, people management and motivation, appraisal skills, sales and key account management and negotiation skills. He has a lively, pragmatic and highly participative approach to training and believes that by being practically involved in the training environment delegates will have a much greater capacity for learning.
Mike has extensive experience of running training seminars throughout UK, Europe and the USA on behalf of a number of well known organisations including; Asda, Wilson Sporting Goods, McCann-Erickson, Homebase, Eurostar, Bacardi Martini, Hasbro, SCA Hygiene, Baines and Ernst and The Bank of Scotland.
In addition to group workshops, Mike undertakes a great deal of one-to-one coaching with senior managers as well as advising both individuals and organisations on career development and succession planning.
Prior to setting up GA Training, Mike was Director of Training for NHA International, a leading Management Consultancy, and previous to that spent fifteen years with SC Johnson Wax during which time he held senior management roles in both sales and human resources.
Greg Tyndall, Client Relationship Director
Prior to joining GA, Greg gained experience in the training sector with Reed and Hawksmere and is well versed in understanding the dynamics of the training market.
Greg has overall responsibility for client relationships and ensures that expectations are not only matched but exceeded. Additionally, Greg manages the team of training consultants and takes great care during the client training needs analysis, to match the client's training requirement to the trainer with the most appropriate experience and with one who also has the closest culture fit to the organisation.
Greg's philosophy is not to be all things to all people, but to focus on what you do well. In this respect, Greg has developed a focused portfolio of training programmes that is delivered by best in class trainers.
Finally, Greg is extremely passionate about client service and is always striving for continuous improvement.
Barry Boothman, Training Director
Barry joined GA Training in January 2004. Prior to joining, he was General Sales Manager at R.Twining & Co. for over 16 years, and was responsible for sales to the UK retail and foodservice markets. During his time at Twinings, Barry was directly responsible for the sales, distribution, telesales and customer services teams. During his early career, Barry held various sales and marketing roles with Beechams Toiletries, Ross Foods and McDougalls Catering Foods.
As part of his training remit, Barry specialises in the following areas; communication and influencing skills, customer service skills, motivation and leadership, sales and key account management and negotiation skills.
As well as undertaking training assignments, Barry is also involved in ongoing consultancy work with a number of organisations helping them to develop channel strategies to both the retail and foodservice sectors.
In his role as Training Director, Barry has recently launched a number of new courses including the very successful 'Negotiating with Real Buyers' along with a coaching programme dealing with, and the handling of, the interface between supplier and retailer.
Kristy Smee, Client Support Manager
Kristy is responsible for the client support functions at GA. She is responsible for managing all the logistics involved in running a successful training programme, and she liaises with both clients and trainers to ensure everything exceeds expectations on the day.
Kristy also oversees the team who organise the GA Training Open Course portfolio.
Prior to joining GA, Kristy held event management positions at Informa and Hawksmere / Croner Training.
