Contract law training could help protect recruitment firm databases
06 November 2007
Engaging in contract law training could be a good idea for recruitment firms who are not on top of online database caveats.
Ann Swain of the Association of Technology Staffing Companies (Atsco) pointed out that databases on social networking sites need more security, Computer World UK reports.
A poll by Atsco found that only a quarter of staffing companies write restrictive laws into contracts with consultants, asserting the ownership of databases constructed on social media sites.
These lists need more security protection because they are "the lifeblood of the recruitment industry", said Ms Swain.
"This is currently an area where contract law is lagging behind social trends and an area of risk that the recruitment industry needs to pick up on."
This is an area where contract law training is likely to have significant positive effects.
The survey also found that sites such as LinkedIn and Facebook are increasingly being used to hire IT staff.
