24 June 2009
Call centres based in the north east are being invited to put their teams forward for consumer care awards, highlighting the value of customer service training.
Nominations for the 2009 North East Contact Centre Awards close on September 4th and a total of nine categories are open, including Contact Centre Adviser of the Year, Contact Centre Team of the Year and Customer Experience Superstar.
Paul Buie, manager of Tyne and Wear Development Company, says that these awards are going from strength to strength every year.
He states: "The region has a contact centre industry which it can be proud of with businesses making a major contribution to the area both in terms of jobs and investments."
The theme of this year's event will be Unveiling the Region's Talent and two courses will be held in Sunderland and North Tyneside next month.
Last year's winner in the Customer Service Champion of Champions category was Donna Ward, from More Than, who saw off Fusion's Rebecca Brown, Stella Wright from Northumbrian Water, EDS' Peter Fraser and More Than's Alison Nash.
