Bank's customer service leaves users smiling
16 April 2009
Financial product provider Smile has won an accolade recognising its high levels of customer service.
The bank has been named the overall winner of the Guardian and Observer Consumer Finance Awards for the second year in a row.
Among the prizes it received was recognition of its high level of consumer care, the Best Customer Service category.
Patrick Collinson, editor of the newspaper's jobs and money supplement, says that it is important that users remain at the heart of the personal finance industry.
He states: "These awards provide a direct link to consumer opinion and this is one of the reasons they are becoming a benchmark for customer service."
The Guardian will be making the information and its assessments available to the participating firms, which could lead to training in this area.
In other news, ferry company P&O has announced it will be investing in customer service training after taking part in the Times' Top 50 Call Centres for Customer Service programme, Customer-Strategy.co.uk reports.
