Car industry honoured for customer service training

29 May 2009

The companies providing the best customer service in the car industry have been revealed, with four UK firms being shortlisted for a customer care award.

Previous entrants in the 2009 Motor Trader Industry Customer Care Award have been whittled down to seven companies, with the one winner to be revealed on July 9th.

The shortlist consists of Academy Group in Manchester, Coombe Coachworks in Surrey, D J Cox Lancaster Honda, Ken Jervis (Kia) in Stoke-on-Trent, Marshall Motor Group in Cambridge, Northern Ferrari Hire in Cheshire and Romford Mazda.

Billy Jack, owner of Northern Ferrari Hire, which specialises in supercar hire, said half of his business relies on personal recommendations and repeat trade, meaning customer service training is key to his company.

"Our customer package is built around the slogan: 'We don't rest until you are happy' and includes pristine supercars, an in-depth car handover, a 24-hour helpline and various initiatives to collect feedback and promote continuous improvement," he explained.

Alan Miller, a judge for the awards, said the company had "surpassed" the accolade's requirement.
