Customer service training: Consumer care event attracting 100s of firms
14 August 2009
Hundreds of organisations have signed up to take part in a week extolling the virtues of consumer care, highlighting the value of customer service training.
The Institute of Customer Service (ICS) will be running National Customer Service Week between October 5th and 11th after revealing that last year's participants reported improved sales following the event.
Jo Causon, chief executive of the ICS, claims that it is important for businesses to focus on consumer care, potentially through customer service training, as this can result in improved loyalty and profit.
"If customers don't get service that is reliable, adaptable and available when and how they need it, they can quickly and easily go elsewhere," she says.
Ms Causon claims that employers are increasingly recognising the advantages provided by customer service training and the benefits this can have to sales and performance.
In other news, Glasgow City Council has announced that it will be giving its community enforcement officers customer service training.
