Customer service training: Council service's consumer care recognised

The level of consumer care provided by Mendip District Council's building control service will result in it being brought to the Cabinet Office's attention, highlighting the value of customer service training.

An assessment of user satisfaction found that the team qualified for the Customer Service Excellence Standard and top politicians are expected to be told about the local authority's achievement.

Helen Donnellan, the assessor who examined the organisation, claims that it has a high level of commitment to its users, highlighting the value of customer service training.

She says: "As a result a poorly performing organisation five years ago, emerged as one which sets standards for others and provides consistent high quality performance."

While Ms Donnellan acknowledges the small size of the building control service, she says that its members have shown a strong commitment to consumer care, highlighting the value of customer service training.

In other news, NHS Lanarkshire staff are receiving customer service training in order to improve consumer care standards.
