Customer service training: Hayes day centre applauded

The consumer care provision of a day centre in Hayes has been acknowledged by an award, highlighting the value of customer service training.

Hillingdon Council's The Asha Day Centre has been recognised in a report compiled by SGS, which describes the organisation's "deep understanding and commitment" in this area.

The implementation of a phone line and new brochures has improved accessibility, while the customer service training behind the development of staff's skills is also highlighted.

Employees were found to be "polite and gracious and showed a friendly, helpful and understanding approach to your users, particularly those with personal difficulties", the source reveals.

The day centre's manager, Hardeep Khanna, says people work hard to offer strong customer service at the organisation and that they are pleased to be recognised by the report.

Communities minister Shahid Malik recently called on local authorities to offer more customer service training, as the public is increasingly looking for this quality.
