Customer service training: Herefordshire Housing praised for improved service

13 August 2009

A leading organisation has been praised by a regulator for its improved levels of consumer care, highlighting the value of customer service training.

Herefordshire Housing Ltd (HHL), which manages 5,000 properties in the county, has achieved two out of three stars in an Audit Commission report, improving on its 2007 rating as "poor".

Deborah Good, the Audit Commission's lead housing inspector for the West Midlands, claims that a large number of changes have been implemented since the previous inspection.

She says: "The pace of change reflects how well HHL has concentrated on understanding what's important for its customers. There is a culture of improvement in place, and customers are now receiving a much better service."

Among the strengths identified by the Audit Commission are improved advice-giving services and a higher level of consumer care, highlighting the value of customer service training.

In other news, the consumer care of the Wrekin Housing Trust was recently recognised in an accolade given at the Shropshire Business Awards 2009, 24dash.com has reported.
