17 June 2009
An employee at a major retailer has had his high levels of consumer care recognised, highlighting the importance of customer service training.
Matthew Callaghan, an employee who works at Marks & Spencer, also received a gift voucher in honour of his 25 years with the company, the Yeovil Express reports.
Sir Stuart Rose, chairman of the organisation, highlights the dedication of the staff and their approach to business.
He states: "Their loyalty and commitment can be seen everyday, particularly with the first-class customer service they provide."
Sir Stuart describes the awards as a way of showing appreciation for the hard work the employees have put into the firm.
In addition, Mr Callaghan received a stay at a top London hotel and trip to the West End for his contribution, further highlighting the importance of customer service training.
Sydney Morning Herald writer Nick Galvern recently advised that customer service training should teach the value of owning up to mistakes dealing with buyers, as this can allow them to address the problem.
