Customer service training and SEO 'needed in equal measures'
27 May 2009
The increasing focus on search engine optimisation (SEO) to boost websites' rankings is coming at the cost of customer care, which may lead to a need for customer service training.
Musa Aykac, writing on the SEO Knowledge blog, stated that many companies now realise they need SEO to survive online, but that this has led to some companies abandoning the essentials on business, in customer care.
There is little use for companies to get top rankings if they do not have the infrastructure to deal with it, with Mr Aykac stating companies which do this often leave clients on the phone lines for hours, leading to low consumer satisfaction.
He added that both SEO and customer care should be invested in equally, adding: "Without customer service, no matter how many enquiries you get, people will end up leaving simply because they are not satisfied."
A recent survey from research agency FDS found there may be a need for customer service training in top firms, after consumers reporting being unsatisfied.
From difficult and demanding customers through to more routine interactions GA Training's customer service training will ensure that whoever you are dealing with and in whatever situation a consistent and exceptional level of service are always the norm.
