Customer service training leads to success for Co-operative Bank

29 June 2009

The Co-operative Bank has been ranked as the Best Financial Services Provider this year, which the company says is due to its focus on customer service training.

In the Which? awards, the bank was praised for its financial services, with the Co-operative saying this is due to its ethical policy and "prudent" management of finances in the recession.

David Anderson, chief executive for the Co-operative Bank, said the company is "delighted" to get the award, adding that it may be in part due to its customer service training.

"This award acknowledges our responsible approach to managing customers' money and the emphasis we place on delivering excellent customer service backed by high-quality and ethically-enriched products," he added.

Chief executive of Which? Peter Vicary-Smith said that the bank stands out from its competitors as it delivers "consistently high levels of customer service".

Earlier this month, More Than was given an award from the Marketing Society for its customer service training.
