Event 'could highlight customer service training for IT staff'
19 August 2009
A week of events is being held in October that aims to encourage IT staff to recognise the value of consumer care, highlighting the value of customer service training.
IT Service Week is taking part between October 5th and 9th and will focus on getting members of support teams to celebrate the way they treat users.
One of the suggested activities will be encouraging people to nominate their IT service hero, highlighting the value of customer service training.
Howard Kendall, founder of the Service Desk Institute, claims that many people do not realise the commitment these staff members have to helping people.
"IT Service Week offers service desks the perfect opportunity to showcase the superb work of their patient and hard-working analysts and engineers," he explains.
Last month, Auratech Software manager Paul Smith highlighted the important role that customer service training has for IT help desk employees, as these staff members are often the first point of contact for clients and consumers.
