Garden centre to implement customer service training
07 January 2008
Heighley Gate Garden Centre near Morpeth, Northumberland, is in line for a £50,000 cash bonus to provide customer service training.
The staff development programme will take place over the coming 12 months, the Morpeth Herald reports.
"We have developed the training to help to unlock untapped potential in our workforce, increasing our profile as an employer, but also as a Garden Centre of Excellence," said managing director Ian Simpson.
"Our recent success only makes us more determined as a business to push forward and continue to achieve great things."
The garden centre has been awarded the Garden Centre of Excellence status for five years in a row. It accommodates more than a million people a year, and employs around 190 workers.
The course will cover all aspects of customer care.
Heighley Gate has developed from a small-holding in 1963 to a major garden and shopping centre today.
