John Lewis Foodhall 'to offer new staff customer service training'
07 July 2009
New members of staff at the Bluewater John Lewis Foodhall will be given customer service training to prepare them for their jobs.
It will create an additional 192 jobs and be the second store of this type in the country, with employees aiming to become experts in consumer care.
Simon Russell, managing director of the John Lewis store, highlighted the skills development process as one of the position's attractions.
"We are putting in place a highly-trained team to ensure the foodhall offers the top quality produce and service John Lewis is known for," he states.
In addition to customer service training, members of staff will visit food producing areas around the country to develop strong product knowledge.
Customer service training at John Lewis was recently recognised in the UK Customer Satisfaction Index for its strong levels of consumer care.
Andy Street, managing director of the group, described receiving the accolade as "rewarding".
