Training games 'ideal' for customer service

07 February 2008

With customer service training crucial to the provision of a consistent and quality service and subsequent sales, leading organisations are increasingly turning to training games to improve customer service.

That is according to research into corporate training methods from sales inspection specialist Retail Active, which indicated that training games provide a more interesting and non-threatening way to present critical business information.

The company found that customer service training games gave staff a greater understanding and consistency throughout all their interactions with customers, and subsequently provided measurable benefits to a company's competitive edge.

According to GameThingy.com, a recent survey of the world's top 500 companies indicated that more than a quarter intend to or have adopted business training games to boost learning in employees.

It noted that they are an incredibly cost effective way for organisations to improve their training and development programmes, both in the field of customer service, and in other areas, such as sales, management and human resources.
