Conference 'to highlight crucial role of leadership'
02 April 2009
An upcoming conference will highlight on the importance of leadership to business success, potentially advocating training in this area.
It will be run by the Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development's (CIPD's) Northern Ireland branch and will balance leadership direction with short-term business needs.
Peter Aiken, chair of the organisation's Northern Ireland branch and the event, claims that the pace of change within companies highlights the importance of accuracy in this.
The CIPD says it is crucial that businesses continue to engage and motivate employees if they are to perform at their best.
Central to the conference will be "the role of strong leadership" and it will be held at the Stormont Hotel in Belfast on May 8th.
Last month, the organisation called for businesses to invest in training leaders, highlighting the role of line managers.
It stated that these individuals play a key part in identifying the skills development needs of their teams.
