Leadership training 'can drive change'
27 March 2009
Leadership training could be needed in order to drive organisational change and engagement, an expert asserts.
Josh Bersin, president of Bersin and Associates, tells TrainingZone.co.uk that development programmes on these lines enable businesses to alter their structures.
Leadership training can be used to help instil the company's strategy in top executives, as well as to change initiatives and improve engagement, he states.
He tells the news provider that this will also allow a business' high fliers to sit down in a room with their superiors and communicate with one another, with potential affects on engagement and motivation.
Mr Bersin suggests a number of other reasons why companies may be interested in implementing leadership training, as this can help build a dynamic career development model and strengthen first and second-line managers.
Nigel Paine, former head of training and development at the BBC and managing director of a self-named company, recently told the news source that employees with a high level of engagement are more likely to benefit from skills development programmes.
