Management training 'has never been more important'

Management training which allows executives to improve employee motivation and commitment "has never been more important", an organisation asserts.

Jackie Orme, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development's (CIPD's) chief executive, claims companies are increasingly looking for staff to innovate with new ways of boosting productivity, saying these qualities are crucial to this goal.

She states that managers who have received training in this area can help employees increase their investment in the firm and become more "willing to go the extra mile".

A new report released by the CIPD and the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service emphasises the importance of managing for the long-term.

In addition, it stresses the central role that innovation should play, advising management training as way of improving wellbeing and productivity.

John Gregoire, a partner at the Praxes Group, recently told Sales and Marketing that effective managers can help sales staff work to achieve their potential.
