Performance management 'generates value'

Maximum value can be obtained from performance management initiatives if these are integral to the firm's business strategy, an analyst has claimed.
Describing the framework it will use to identify the finalists for the Gartner Business Intelligence Summit next year, the researcher states those companies where solutions which have increased this have been implemented have the greatest chance of being selected.
Kurt Schlegel, the firms' research director and business intelligence summit co-chair, claims those organisations which are most successful are those where leadership has leveraged information assets in order to drive business performance, which could be obtained through management training.
"Business intelligence and performance management initiatives must be integral to the business strategy and execution in order to drive maximum value from these initiatives," he asserts.
Earlier this week, Alan Warner, the director of people and property for Hertfordshire county council, emphasised the importance of maintaining investment in training, HR and Training Journal reports.
