Productivity highest on a Tuesday, lowest on a Friday
06 May 2008
A survey of bosses and employees has found that Tuesday is the day when workers are at their most productive while Friday afternoon is the day when they are least.
Research conducted by employment law firm Peninsula showed that 48 per cent of the 1362 respondents stated that Tuesday was the day with the highest efficiency, while six per cent named Friday, according to Online Recruitment.
Bosses have been warned by Deb Gibbons, head of employee relations at Peninsula, that they should take time to consider how much this drop in productivity could cost the firm.
"Whilst most of the working population stop work early on a Friday you have to remember that employers pay their staff to the end of the day so how much productivity is lost as a consequence," she told the site.
Ms Gibbons advised firms to delegate work and manage time better in order to make each day as fruitful as possible.
Peninsula provides employment law and health and safety services.
