Research project to explore talent management

03 April 2008

A management software firm has announced the launch of a research project to explore the state of talent management practices in the UK.

InfoBasis will interview a range of organisations of different sizes across a variety of sectors to identify what companies understand by talent management and how they are implementing it.

"There's a great deal of interest in talent management right now but very little agreement about what it is, or how to do it well. This research will go some way to answer those questions," explained InfoBasis's chief executive Ashley Wheaton.

"With the economic situation likely to worsen, this is the right time to begin engaging, developing and deploying your employees to do the best of their potential," he added.

Meanwhile, the Sunday Times recently reported that many business leaders feel their companies are suffering due to difficulties attracting talented employees.

In a survey by headhunting company DDI, 70 per cent of chief executives said a lack of leadership talent is having a negative impact upon their business, the newspaper said.
