Communication training 'key to company brand'
23 March 2009
Communication training is a vital way for companies to instil their company brand among their staff, a group asserts.
Rebecca Clake, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development's organisation and resourcing advisor, claims the company's culture is particularly important and must be protected from potential damage caused by pay freezes or redundancies.
She states that a strong company brand will enable businesses to retain their staff and invest in their development and training.
To ensure the firm's culture remains an effective asset, she says communication is crucial, as by assessing employee feelings companies are prepared to respond to changing attitudes.
Ms Clake states: "It's crucial that organisations keep focusing on employer branding to help motivate and engage staff, hang on to key talent and to make sure they can attract and develop the skills they will need."
In other news, the Local Government Association has published a list of 200 jargon terms it wants authorities to stop using in order to increase clarity.
