Demand for business performance coaching likely to increase
14 May 2008
An industry figure has claimed that despite the 'credit crunch' the demand for business performance management training is likely to increase.
John Blakely, director of brand development at the UK International Coaching Federation, believes that companies will be nervous as to the effects of the credit crunch but that staff training in specific areas could increase.
He told Training Zone that performance improvement training could be in higher demand due to the current financial climate.
"There will be an increase in demand for coaching focused on business performance improvement and coaching that facilitates change management initiatives, such as reorganisations, mergers and cost reduction programmes," he stated.
David Pardey, senior manager of policy and research at the Institute of Leadership and Management reinforced Mr Blakely's belief, saying that businesses will now look at the long-term impact of staff training, the site reports.
A recent survey by the Chartered Insurance Institute revealed that bosses are concerned about the lack of ability by some of their employees.
