Writing skills training 'needed for firm newsletter'
23 February 2009
Company newsletters are tools which require writing skills to compose effectively, an expert asserts.
David Gruttadaurio, a print newsletter marketing expert, tells Sales and Marketing that many businesses make the mistake of failing to consider the elements of their organisation which will appeal to the audience.
He emphasises the importance of ensuring the firm is not the focus of the newsletter, instead including relevant content written in a way which will be useful and engaging in client's day-to-day lives.
In addition, he says it is crucial that the fact the message is a marketing tool is not forgotten during the composition process.
Mr Gruttadaurio suggests the practice of including testimonials and references to satisfied referees, which could be taught in writing skills training.
Last month, Crystal Uppercue, marketing manager of EU Services, emphasised the importance of writing skills training, the news provider reports.
Suggesting that "content is king", she said every communication from employees should be pertinent, timely and relevant.
