Employees And Bosses Agree On 'Positive Impact' Of Flexible Working
New performance management research has found that both bosses and staff believe flexible working has a positive impact on performance.
According to a survey conducted by Working Families and the Cranfield School of Management, 45 per cent of managers and 61 per cent of employees believe more work is done under flexible terms, HR Magazine reports.
In addition 65 per cent of staff think that the quality of their work improves while 46 per cent of managers agreed.
Nearly half of bosses believed there was little difference in the quality of work produced by flexible employees and non-flexible.
Pat McFadden, the minister for employment relations, thinks that working flexibly brings benefits to everyone.
"This report shows that helping parents and carers to better balance their work and home commitments can be good for families and business. We are extending the right to request flexible working to parents of older children," he said.
Flexible working is based around a schedule that is adapted to suit individual needs.
